Lancashire Constabulary

Freedom of Information Publication Scheme

Introduction

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (known hereafter as 'the Act') gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by the Constabulary. The Act places a number of obligations on the Constabulary, including the need to create and maintain a Publication Scheme. The aim of the Publication Scheme is to set out classes of information which routinely are made publicly available. The current version of the Scheme is based upon the Information Commissioners' Office's Model Scheme and the Definitions Document for Police Forces (i.e. the minimum standards in which a Police Force should adhere to in its Publication Scheme).

Both of these documents can be found at the following web addresses:-

Model Publication Scheme (External link)
Definitions Document for Police Forces (External link)

The information in this Scheme is available by clicking on the website links where available, otherwise the information can be obtained in the following ways:

By email: information@lancashire.pnn.police.uk

By post: Freedom of Information, Information Compliance & Disclosure Section, Lancashire Police Headquarters, PO Box 77, Hutton, Preston, PR4 5SB

If you require information that is not listed under the Scheme, either write or email us using the details above and a member of staff will look at the feasibility of providing you with this information.

If you require information that is of a personal nature to yourself, i.e. a list of all your convictions, such requests are exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 by virtue of Section 40(1) as the right for access for this type of information falls under the process of 'Subject Access' under the Data Protection Act 1998.

For details of how the 'Subject Access' process works and how to undertake such a request, click here
