Counter Terrorism Security Advisor

Lancashire Constabulary, together with Police forces throughout the United Kingdom, are better trained and equipped than ever before to combat the threat of International and Domestic terrorism.

Dedicated Counter Terrorism Security Advisers (CTSA's) provide counter terrorism protective security advice to business, industry or premises at risk from terrorism. The CTSA's also provide counter terrorism advice to a wide range of stakeholders, including companies that hold sensitive government contracts, members of the general business community and to Lancashire Constabulary. Their advice takes into account both conventional and non-conventional terrorist techniques with the aim of reducing vulnerability to terrorist threats. The CTSA's work closely with other Police Forces throughout the country, Government departments, representative bodies, industry and other agencies.

National Counter Terrorism Security Office

The CTSA role was developed in response to the growing threat from International Terrorism and the new and novel methods of attack and targeting. CTSA's are tasked by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), a specialist police organisation co-located with the Security Service in the National Security Advice Centre (NSAC).
