Prevent
What is it?
Here in Lancashire we know that the way to combat the terrorist threat is to work hard to prevent people becoming involved in extremist activity in the first place.
The Constabulary has led the way nationally in developing innovative initiatives that engage young people right across the county and encourage discussion and debate about counter terrorism between key groups.
We are proud to have won national acclaim from the National Community Tension Team (NCTT) for our work on 'ACT Now', an interactive workshop, as well as being nominated for a Criminal Justice Award 2008/9 and Home Office award for the thought-provoking play 'Not In My Name'.
Key organisations have been working closely with Lancashire police to make sure that we speak to and understand the views of the young and old alike.

How can you get involved?
You may feel that you would like to take part in a PREVENT activity or arrange your own event either locally or nationally. If you have a look through the links on the left of the screen there are details of who to contact if you want to get involved or find out more.
