Lancashire Constabulary strives to provide the highest quality of service to our communities, however there will be occasions when we do not meet the expectations of the public. Complaints are important to us as they assist in improving the service we deliver and in reviewing our policies and procedures.

We're sorry you have reached the point where you feel you need to make a complaint but will do all that we can to make that process easier for you.

To make a complaint you can:

  • Contact the Professional Standards Department of Lancashire Constabulary on 01772 412601 or write to the Detective Chief Superintendent, Professional Standards Department, Police Headquarters, P O Box 77, Hutton, Preston, PR4 5SB;

  • Go into any police station and ask for your complaint to be recorded. Click here for a list of police stations;
  • Contact the Independent Police Complaints Commission at 90 High Holborn, London WC1V 6BH, telephone number 08453 002002 or by e-mail enquiries@ipcc.gsi.gov.uk.
  • Contact a solicitor or your MP and ask them to make a complaint for you; - Nominate a person, who must have your written consent, to act on your behalf;
