We are part of the WorkStart programme which provides the opportunity for 18-24 year olds to gain work experience with private and public sector businesses for up to 8 weeks. WorkStart is provided by Lancashire County Council and is delivered in partnership with JobCentre Plus.
Those undertaking the scheme continue to receive their benefits whilst on placement and JobCentre Plus pays all travel expenses. Whilst there is no obligation for us to maintain employment after the first 8 weeks, those on placement who fulfil the role criteria may be offered an employment opportunity with Lancashire Constabulary. Some of those who have worked with us on the scheme have been successful in applying for and securing full-time work after a six month paid placement (see case studies below).
We will be using the WorkStart program more and more in the future and it is an ideal way to gain solid work experience and improve your CV. It is an exciting pathway that can help you to gain skills and knowledge for the future and one that opens up opportunities for your career development. Lancashire Constabulary fully supports this initiative and we welcome applications from those eligible for it.
