How to report a crime

CrimeStoppers

Call Crimestoppers to tell us what you know, you don't have to say who you are

Crime Stoppers

There are five main ways that you can report a crime:-

  • If it is an emergency situation such as a life or death situation or the crime is in progress, dial 999;
  • If it is a non-emergency situation, you can report this by calling 0845 1 25 35 45 and speak to one of our Communications Operators;
  • Contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team. If you're not sure who they are, type your postcode into the search facility on the right hand side of this page.
  • Call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 - Crimestoppers is a completely independent organisation which allows you to provide details of a crime without revealing your identity - all you have to do is provide as much information as you can about the crime.
  • Visit your local police station.
