Priority 1: Anti social behaviour in Ashton area - All times. As this is an ongoing problem in the area with the summer holidays period commencing work to encourage youths to participate in numerous activities at the Star Youth Club & local parks is desired.
UPDATE: Neighbourhood Policing Team have continued to target a group of local children approximately 5-12 years old. This group is responsible for the Anti Social Behaviour around Ashton. They have been issued with youth referrals and placed on Acceptable Behaviour Contracts. Referrals have been submitted to Family Intervention Project and Group Intervention Panel to work with the offending children/families. The Neighbourhood Policing Team have also identified a separate group of youths who are responsible for Anti Social Behavior/damage. The main offender has been placed on a Family Intervention Project his progress will be monitored. The Neighbourhood Policing Team is in the process of collating evidence for his Housing Association to support an eviction should this intervention not succeed.
Priority 2: Criminal Damage - All times. The Neighbourhood Policing Team is to continue to look at ways to reduce the number of criminal damage incidents involving motor vehicles and buildings. Leaflet drops to encourage vehicle owners when ever possible to park on their driveways and keep gates to properties secure are to be completed.
UPDATE: The Neighbourhood Policing Team have identified several groups of youths who are responsible for damage to buildings and vehicles and are currently in the process of dealing with the individuals. One individual has been placed on a Family Intervention Project issued with a ‘Notice to Quit’ his home by his Housing Association due to Anti Social Behaviour and damage complaints.
Priority 3: Dog Fouling - All times. Continued complaints from residents in the Ashton area about dogs fouling on the pavements and dog owners not cleaning it up. The Neighbourhood Policing Team is to arrange an action clean up day and raise awareness of the problem,distributing the relevant dog mess disposal bags to dog walkers.
UPDATE: The Neighbourhood Policing Team has obtained ‘poop’ bags which they have handed out to dog walkers/owners. Neighbourhood Policing Team are making further contact with Preston City Council Dog Welfare Department and are encouraging residents to contact Preston City Council Cleansing Department, who will clean up large amounts of dog mess if they are contacted prior to 2pm each day. Neighbourhood Policing Team have liaised with Preston City Council / Dog Wardens and are in the process of arranging an initiative of identifying offending dog owners and appropriate action will be taken by them.
