What do you want to happen in your area?

Your local team is all about finding local solutions to local issues and works closely with organisations to make this happen. It runs monthly meetings called Police and Communities Together (PACT) where you can talk about things that are happening in your area that you think need sorting out.

Find out what people said was important this month -

Priority 1:

Wimberley Street. Youths congregating in the alley smoking and causing anti social behaviour at various times during the weekends and evenings.

Priority 2:

Whalley New Road. Youths congregating on the grassed area near to the sub station adjacent to 165 Whalley New Road.

Priority 3:

Troy Street. Youths congregating near to the flats

Find out what we have been doing in the last month -

YOU SAID: Beachwood Court – Youths are playing football in the street at night and making lots of noise. This is causing a concern for residents. This occurring daily between 19:00 & 23:30

WE DID: Working in conjunction with the local Mosques the Neighbourhood Policing Team have undertaken Ramadan patrols to ensure that local youths are attending Mosque.

AS A RESULT: The Neighbourhood Policing Team have undertaken high visible foot patrols within the area, but have not come across any youths acting in an anti social manner. The area has been quieter than usual at the time of Ramadan.



YOU SAID: Whalley New Road – There is a group of youths congregating on the grassland next to the electrical substation beside 165 Whalley New Road. The youths are smoking and drinking alcohol and this is disturbing residents. This is occurring between 20:00 & 02:00am

WE DID: High visible patrols have been carried out in the area, CCTV posters have been provided, youths moved on and letter drops have been carried out in the area.

AS A RESULT: There have been no further problems of Anti Social Behaviour.



YOU SAID: Colenso Road – There have been two burglaries reported in the area past month.

WE DID: The neighbourhood team have carried out numerous high visibility patrols in the direct area. There have been no further burglaries reported in the area during the month and residents have fed back to the Neighbourhood Policing Team that they feel reassured by the increased Police presence.

AS A RESULT: There have been no further reports of burglaries in the area and the police will carry on with high visible patrols.
