Man found guilty of killing Jack Jermy-Doyle

A MAN has today (Friday, March 15) been found guilty of killing Jack Jermy-Doyle in Preston.
Jake Parkinson, 22, of Bow Lane, Preston, had denied manslaughter but was found guilty after a trial at Preston Sessions House.

Jack, 25, was assaulted on the junction of Harris Street and Birley Street, Preston, at approximately 2.40am on August 12th, 2022, following an altercation with Parkinson and another man Jak Fairclough.
Fairclough, 29, of Blackpool Road, Preston, had previously pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter.

Following the assault Jack was taken to hospital but very sadly died two days later. His family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

Det Insp Bryony Midgley, of the Force Major Investigation Team, said: “My thoughts first and foremost are with Jack’s family and loved ones. They have lost a kind and caring young man, who they loved dearly, through the senseless and violent actions of Parkinson and Fairclough on that night.
“I would like to thank the jury for their careful consideration of the facts in what was an emotive case. I would also like to thank the Crown Prosecution Service and prosecution counsel for their presentation of the case.
“I would like to further thank all the officers and staff who worked tirelessly on this case to secure charges and now successful convictions. I hope that today’s result gives Jack’s family some sense that justice has been served.”
Both Parkinson and Fairclough will be sentenced next week.
