POLICE in Bamber Bridge have released CCTV images of people they wish to speak to in connection with a burglary in December.

Between 11:30pm on the 30th December and 1am on the 31st December 2009, the Spar shop on Station Road Bamber Bridge was broken into.

It is believed that the offenders have initially tried to gain access via the roof but it is thought the offenders have eventually gained entry at the rear of the premises where they removed a small vent and some of the brick work making a small access hole.

On gaining entry to the shop floor area, the offenders have approached the staff room forcing two locked wooden doors to gain access into an office area where the safe is kept however; the offenders have left the scene empty handed.

PC Lisa Gibbons, investigating the burglary said, "I would appeal for anyone with any information to come forward and contact police.

"It is quite unusual that this amount of effort would be made to gain entry to a store to leave empty handed so it could be possible that the offenders may have been disturbed so I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area of Station Road at the time of the burglary to come forward if they saw anything suspicious."

Anyone with any information can contact police on 08451 25 35 45 or via Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555 111
