Operation Julius is a campaign aimed at tackling burglary in Lancashire throughout July.
Although levels of burglary are at unprecedented lows in Lancashire, these crimes have an adverse impact, not only to victims directly affected by these crimes but the wider community as a whole.
As part of our determination to keep burglary low we are looking to further reduce the number of crimes through prevention and detection and target known offenders during this period.
Actions taking place during the operation include:
- Identifying Lancashire's top 30 burglary offenders
- Executing warrants
- Tackling suspected offenders using a range of tactics including filming them to prevent burglaries, the use of Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology and warning letters
- Providing high visibility police patrols in burglary hot spot areas
- Enforcing a 'ring of steel' to ensure non-Lancashire offenders cannot come into the county to commit burglaries
- Handing out posters, leaflets and postcards with advice on how you can keep your home safe
