Exit Interviews and Uniformed Services Access Course

Exit Interviews
Obviously, not everyone who joins the police decides to stay so to try and understand why people leave, the Minority Recruitment Team undertakes exit interviews with all female and minority ethnic officers and an equal number of white male officers who resign. This is to find out whether or not there are any diversity issues which need to be looked at by the Constabulary.

Prior to the interview, officers complete a short questionnaire which include a number of questions relating to the reasons for resignation. During the interview officers then have the opportunity to discuss and specific issues.

Uniformed Services Access Course
This course is run by local colleges throughout Lancashire, numbers permitting, for those interested in a career with the uniformed services. The course enables students to address key skill areas, including communication, teamwork and physical fitness. It is run 15 to 20 weeks and is free for those who are unemployed.

Lancashire Constabulary fully supports these courses by inviting participants to visit various departments at Hutton as well as visiting colleges to give presentations and promote the opportunities within Lancashire Constabulary. For further information contact must be made with the colleges directly.
