In March 2021 we introduced new rural task force teams across Lancashire to allow us to proactively target the issues that matter most to rural communities.
A total of 20 officers now form part of the local policing teams that already cover the rural communities to provide extra resources to target, disrupt and address crime - including machinery theft, rural, wildlife and heritage crime.
The teams are based at Morecambe, Garstang, Ormskirk, Clitheroe and Waterfoot and cover the surrounding rural areas.
In 2020 we established task forces in our more urban areas and they have been effective in targeting issues and the people who cause the most harm to our communities. This brings that model out to our rural areas.
Talking to the residents in rural areas is key to the success of these teams. We are asking our communities to tell us what their issues and concerns are so we can actively work to address them.
You can provide feedback about the issues that matter most to you by completing our survey at stayintheknow.co.uk/lancashiretalking.
