Attempted robbery in Preston

Monday, December 17, 2018

We are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Preston.

We were called at 17:40 hours on Saturday 8th December to reports of the incident at Dilemmas tanning and hairdressers on Fylde Road.

Two men entered the store and approached a woman in the shop. One of the men tried to take her handbag.

The victim managed to keep hold of her bag but fell to the floor. One of the men then struck her to the stomach with a metal pole. Luckily a member of the public managed to pull the offender from her and she wasn’t seriously injured.

The two offenders who had their hoods up and faces covered left the scene in the direction of Fleetwood Street and then on to Steeple View.

DC Fabian Spence of Preston Police “Thanks to the member of the public who intervened, the victim was not seriously harmed and the offenders didn’t manage to get away with anything.

“But this must have been very frightening for those involved and we need to find the people responsible.”

If you have any information please contact us immediately on 101 quoting log number 1149 of 8 December.
