CCTV appeal after Accrington burglary

Wednesday, January 9, 2019

We are appealing for information following a high value theft in Accrington.

Police were called around 1.05am on November 18 following reports of a burglary in Whalley Road.

Several men had entered a property and taken a safe. The safe contained jewellery, a Rolex watch and cash, with the total value of the theft estimated at £150,000. It is believed the offenders then made off from the scene in a vehicle.

Following CCTV enquiries detectives are keen to trace these people and this car, pictured.

Det Con Tom Halliwell, of Blackburn CID, said: “We are appealing for information following a high value theft.

“We believe this was a targeted offence, with the offenders waiting for the victim to leave the address before removing the safe.

“The items taken are of significant sentimental value and we would urge anyone with information to come forward.

“Any details provided to police will be treated in the strictest confidence.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or email 3417@lancashire.pnn.police.uk quoting log 0091 of November 18.
