Appeal after Bacup aggravated burglary

Friday, November 8, 2019

We are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in Bacup.

Around 7pm yesterday (Thursday, November 7) three men entered a property in Haworth Drive.

One of the men was carrying a large knife and threatened the occupants demanding the whereabouts of drugs.

The men eventually left the property empty-handed, with no-one injured.

The first offender is described as black, 5ft 8in tall, wearing dark clothing, with the second man described as white, 5ft 7in tall with a shaved head and ginger stubble, again wearing dark clothing.

No description is available for the third suspect.

Det Con Phil Scott, of Burnley CID, said: “This was a shocking incident with the offenders breaking into a family home demanding drugs.

“Thankfully no-one was injured but those involved showed a complete disregard for the victims.

“The suspects realised they had entered the wrong address and quickly made off from the scene.

“We would encourage anyone who saw these individuals, or anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the offence, to come forward.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or email quoting log 1383 of November 7.

Alternatively independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
