UPDATE: Appeal launched after Fleetwood shop robbery

Detectives investigating a knifepoint shop robbery in Fleetwood have released CCTV images of a man they want to identify.

Around 6pm on January 4 a man wearing a balaclava, parka coat with a brown fur tip and light grey jogging bottoms, entered the One Stop shop at the junction of Lindel Road and Winfield Avenue.

He approached a shop worker from behind, grabbing him by the shoulder and threatening him with a knife.

The offender took a quantity of cash before making off from the scene on Lindel Road.

The shop worker was not injured during the incident.

Following investigation detectives are keen to identify this man, pictured, in connection with the incident.

Det Con Adam Townsend, of Blackpool CID, said: “We have conducted a number of enquiries in connection with this investigation and we now have CCTV images of a suspect who we want to identify.

“While the man has his face covered, he is wearing a distinctive coat with a white badge on his arm.

“I believe someone will know who this is and I am appealing to people living in the area to come forward with information.”
