Fifteenth person arrested in Aya Hachem murder investigation

A woman has today (Wednesday, May 27th) been arrested in the latest development on the investigation into death of Aya Hachem, 19, in Blackburn.

The 33-year-old from Bolton was detained in the area this afternoon on suspicion of Aya’s murder and the attempted murder of who police believe was the intended target.

Aya (pictured below), was shot in broad daylight on Sunday, May 17th as she was out shopping close to the Lidl supermarket on King Street in Blackburn.

14 people were arrested in the days after her death, with five men and a woman charged; two men bailed pending further enquiries; five people – four men and two women – released under investigation and one man released without charge.
