In April 2019 an investigation into the activities of Donald Maxwell Boyle was launched after a victim came forward to say she had been abused by the defendant in Ormskirk in the 1980s. At that time Boyle went by the name of Donald Maxwell Wells but changed his name by deed pole after being jailed for abusing a child in the late 1980s, later moving to Wales.
Witness appeal after pedestrian dies in collision in Skelmersdale

The incident occurred at around 9.25pm last night on Southway when a Skoda Octavia entered the dual carriageway from Bone Island. It was then involved in a collision with a man, aged in his 30s who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have launched an investigation after a 39-year-old man was assaulted at around 11.30pm on December 27 at an address on Railway Street. We were called to the same street at around 3.45pm the following day (December 28) to a report of a disorder.
