A MAN has been charged with the murder of a couple in Higher Walton.
We were called at 1.40pm on Saturday, November 20th to a concern for the safety of the occupants of a property in Cann Bridge Street.
Officers forced entry and sadly found Tricia Livesey, aged 57 and Anthony Tipping, aged 60 deceased inside the address.
Post-mortem examinations showed that they both died from multiple stab wounds.
35-year-old Lee Tipping was arrested on suspicion of murder and was subsequently detained under the Mental Health Act. After a review he was deemed fit for interview and after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service he was yesterday evening (Wednesday, December 15th) charged with both murders.
The family of the victims have been made aware of the latest developments and are being supported by liaison officers. Our thoughts remain with them.
Lee Tipping, of Cann Bridge Street, Higher Walton is due to appear before Preston Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday, December 16th)
