In the past 24 hours our Tac Ops officers have made some more arrests after stopping vehicles linked with crimes across the county.

We were called to Sutton Crescent, Huncoat, near Accrington, shortly before 8pm last night to a report of a stolen Ford Ranger 4x4.

Officers attended and after some good proactive police work a vehicle was spotted travelling towards Manchester and stopped in the Moston area.

A 31 year old man from Manchester was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He is currently in custody.

Around the same time a cloned vehicle was sighted on the M65, after it had been previously reported in Blackpool due to the manner in which it was being driven.

The vehicle, a Mercedes, was stopped on the M55 and found to be an outstanding stolen car from Blackpool. Three men were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and driving offences and are currently in custody. The vehicle has now been returned to its owner.

Earlier in the day we stopped a suspected stolen vehicle sought in connection with a burglary where a large quantity of electrical items were reported stolen from a premises on Wellfield Business Park, Preston.

Following some great team work a vehicle was quickly located and stopped by Tac Ops officers on Poulton Street. A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in custody. The items reported stolen were also recovered.
