Appeal for information following serious collision in Blackburn

We're appealing for information following a serious collision in Blackburn that has left a man in hospital with serious injuries.

It occurred at around 9.25am on Thursday morning (6 April) on Bolton Road, when a Ford Kuga collided with a pedestrian on Jack Walker Way, junction A666.

The pedestrian – a man aged in his 80s – suffered multiple injuries in the collision, including pelvis and rib fractures.

He and his family are now being supported by specialist officers.

We are now appealing for anyone with information or footage showing what happened to get in touch.

Sgt Dave Hurst, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “An investigation has been launched and we are now asking anybody who witnessed the collision or who saw vehicle in the moments before it happened to get in touch. We would also like to hear from anyone who has CCTV, dashcam or other footage showing the area around the collision.”
