This scheme is for anyone in Lancashire with a business, community, charity or residential property. You can name a keyholder to keep a copy of your keys, or door codes, in case of an emergency at your property. If you're not available, emergency services will contact your keyholder.
The scheme, called KeyPoint, is run by Lancashire Constabulary.
You give us the details of your nominated keyholder and we keep them in our database. If there's an incident at your premises, as soon as we're told about it, we can contact your keyholder and arrange to meet them at your property. This means a quick entry if there's an emergency.
Ambulances and fire services can also contact us to get your keyholder's details.
If there are emergency repairs that need to be done at your property, you can give us details of companies you'd prefer to use. This includes boarding-up companies or water/gas/electricity suppliers. If your keyholder is not available, we can contact the repair companies on your behalf.
The scheme can also be used for houses or flats. If you have an elderly, infirm or vulnerable relative and they have their door keys stored in a key safe outside their home, or they have a door code, the codes can be added to the database.
Knowing that if there's an emergency, the police, ambulance and fire services can get quick access to your relative's home can give you and your relative peace of mind.
