Rural Crime and Reassurance
Issued 28 April 2026
We will work to target offenders in acquisitive crime as part of Operation Stoat. We will do this by target hardening vulnerable premises and to provide visibility and reassurance to the community. We will engage vehicles in the area at off peak times to deter travelling criminals using intelligence and information supplied by the community.
We will focus on historic buildings and churches to ensure our heritage is protected and ensure listed buildings receive the protection they deserve.
We will work with national and local agencies to ensure our wildlife is protected by taking positive action against those who would engage in poaching activities. Through presentations to the local communities we will inform residents of what to look out for and what to report to the Police to ensure we are working with the community to look after their area.
