A top priority identified by Rossall ward residents through Lancashire Talking is currently:
Burglary
Issued 01 April 2026
Burglary
We are very aware burglary can have a significant impact on victims, both financially and emotionally. As well as losing items of value, some of which could be personal or irreplaceable, victims may feel a violation of security and distress that someone unknown has been in their home.
Op Defender is the forcewide name given to tackling residential burglaries in Lancashire and sets out specific expectations for officers. Op Defender equips officers with targeted and proactive patrol plans and seeks to prevent crime from happening in the first place so we can effectively safeguard our residents. As well as prevention, this campaign is about ensuring the best possible response for burglary victims and continuing to ensure our victims feel and are supported throughout the investigation.
The last 3 years has also seen a steady decline in reported burglary offences across Wyre.

Dog Fouling is one of the top priorities you have also raised to us through Lancashire Talking.

Dog Fouling – Time to Take Action
Dog fouling continues to be one of the most frequent concerns raised by residents, and it’s easy to see why. It’s unpleasant, unhygienic, and creates a poor environment for everyone using our parks, pavements, and public spaces. No one should have to navigate their way around dog mess in our communities.
Wyre Borough Council is the authority responsible for dealing with dog fouling on public land, and they have a number of measures in place to manage and reduce the problem. This includes:
• Investigating reports of dog fouling.
• Issuing Fixed Penalty Notices to those who fail to clean up after their dog.
• Patrolling problem areas to deter offending.
• Putting up signage and providing waste bins.
• Running education campaigns to promote responsible dog ownership.
However, enforcement alone isn’t enough — public information is vital. If you witness someone not cleaning up after their dog, please report it. The more detail you can provide, the more effectively the Council can take action. Useful information includes:
• Time, date, and exact location of the incident.
• A description of the person and the dog.
• Vehicle details, including registration, if relevant.
Reports can be made directly to Wyre Borough Council using the link below:

In some cases, enforcement may go as far as court proceedings, and having witnesses willing to support the process makes a real difference.
By reporting incidents and encouraging responsible behaviour, we can help keep Wyre’s parks, pathways, and public spaces clean, safe, and pleasant for everyone.

Rossall Ward residents have also highlighted Nuisance Motorbikes / E-bikes / E-scooters as a concern.
Issued 01 April 2026
This is a much wider concern for communities across Wyre, Lancashire and indeed nationally.
Your Wyre NHPT are working closely with partners including Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Wyre Borough Council and Lancashire Road Safety Partnership to conduct operations targeting these vehicles, education and positive action where appropriate.
Lancashire Constabulary have also recently acquired Six on and off-road bikes, equipped with lights and sirens, that will support officers working on Operation Centurion, a county-wide initiative targeting anti-social behaviour including the illegal use of e-bikes, e-scooters, and general motorbike nuisance.
