  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

Victoria and Norcross Ward residents have also highlighted Road Safety as a concern.

    Issued 01 April 2026

    Action taken:

This incorporates all aspects of Road safety including parking, ASB driving, speeding, and drink/drug driving.

One of the main road safety concerns you raise is speeding. Any speeding concerns can be reported on line via Lancashire Road Safety Partnership. Once reviewed, Wyre NHPT, where appropriate, will conduct Community Road Watch. We also conduct random speed enforcement operations in key areas.

School drop off and pick up is another big concern. Some drivers regularly put lives at risk by inconsiderate and dangerous driving/parking. We attend schools across the area on a regular basis, try and educate drivers, send key messages through schools and across social media platforms and will continue to run partnership operations with WBC Parking Enforcement officers.

    Actioned 30 June 2026

  • Priority:

One of the top priorities identified by Victoria and Norcross ward residents through Lancashire Talking is currently:

    Road Safety - Nuisance Motorbikes / E-bikes / E-scooters.

    Issued 01 April 2026

    Action taken:

This is a much wider concern for communities across Wyre, Lancashire and indeed nationally.

Your Wyre NHPT are working closely with partners including Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Wyre Borough Council and Lancashire Road Safety Partnership to conduct operations targeting these vehicles, education and positive action where appropriate.

Lancashire Constabulary have also recently acquired Six on and off-road bikes, equipped with lights and sirens, that will support officers working on Operation Centurion, a county-wide initiative targeting anti-social behaviour including the illegal use of e-bikes, e-scooters, and general motorbike nuisance.

    Actioned 30 June 2026

  • Priority:

The top priority raised to us by Victoria and Norcross Ward residents is noise nuisance.

    Issued 01 April 2026

    Action taken:

Noise nuisance is generally dealt with by the local Council.

Excessive noise can seriously affect peoples quality of life.

Noise nuisance is covered by Part III of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, which empowers local authorities to deal with noise from fixed premises.

In the first instance it is recommend you approach your neighbour either personally or by other means, for example, by letter and explain that you are being troubled by the noise. Although you may find this difficult, it is surprising how often neighbours are unaware of the disturbance they are causing.

If you don’t feel able to approach them, or the noise doesn’t stop, you can report this to Wyre Borough council on line.
